The Ultimate Mama and Son Getaway
In this hectic, busy world, sometimes as moms, we don’t get a chance to prioritize time with our Sons. Let’s be honest, there just isn’t a ton of activities for Moms and Sons to do together! That’s why the Mama and Son Retreat was born! We only get 18 glorious years with them before they become adults themselves, so now is the time to connect, make those memories and have a blast doing it!
Rustic Mama Retreats Ultimate Mama and Son Getaway is the perfect place for you to relax, refresh and reconnect with your son and yourself. You’ll both have the chance to engage in a variety of amazing sessions together such as rock climbing, archery, outdoor survival skills, fitness classes, art workshops, sign making, cooking workshops and so much more. Everything is designed to be fun, exciting and allow you to relax and make those deeper connections.
Sessions and Workshops
There is something for everyone at our Mama and Son Retreat. The biggest problem you’ll have is choosing which session to sign up for! Fun, adventure, education, friendship and relaxation await you at our Mama and Son escape!
Maybe you’ll spend the morning creating a masterpiece! Take a guided painting workshop, bake up a storm or try your hand at making a rustic wooden sign, paracord bracelets or some amazing DIY crafts.
Adventure more you and your son’s thing? Cheer each other on as you tackle a state of the art high-ropes course or touch the sky by scaling and rappelling the 30′ tall rock climbing wall! Take your aim in the archery field or push yourself to tackle some outdoor survival skills!
The fun doesn’t stop there! Evenings at Rustic Mama Retreats are filled with entertainment! From Friday night entertainers and games to an epic Saturday night party! We’ve got the perfect recipe for exciting evenings and we always have campfires and s’mores!
At Rustic Mama Retreats we strive to be affordable and accessible to families everywhere. We don’t want anyone to miss out on the fun! While some retreats offer programming of this kind for $800-$1200, we’ve worked hard to offer great value for a much lower cost!

March’s Mama & Son Retreat will be held at Camp Trillium located just 1 hr outside the GTA. Located on 142 acres, this camp offers gorgeous views of their 35 acre private lake, as well as incredible activities such as rock climbing, high ropes, archery, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and so much more. Built in 1998, this facility is modern and has all the amenities of home.
Camp Trillium accommodations feature 8 large accessible winterized cabins with a semi-attached design. There are several rooms within each cabin, which can accommodate groups of 4-16 and all have heat, hydro and several outlets. Washrooms, with showers, are also located inside each section of the cabin as well so no need to wander outside in the middle of the night.
The May and November Mama & Son Retreat will be held at Camp Mini Yo We, which is nestled in the lush Muskoka forest and their 270 acres of property features a private lake, island, natural rock face climbing wall, archery range, a double zip-line, high and low ropes courses and so much more. There are extensive hiking and skiing trails, ice skating rink and even a snow tubing hill should we have snow by that time.
Mini Yo We accommodations include newly-renovated, winterized cabins with electricity and heat. All have full washrooms with sink, showers and toilets. Most cabins accommodate 12-24 people so be sure to let us know if you have any cabin mate requests or come with a large group of friends and have a cabin all to yourselves! Remember to bring your own pillow and sleeping bag.
Camp Mini Yo We and Camp Trillium’s very own chefs will provide amazing, nutritious and delicious meals throughout the weekend with both healthy and indulgent options! Meals will include incredible homemade baked goods, vegetarian options and a delicious salad bar.
Please be sure to inform us of any food allergies/intolerances or health issues you feel we should be aware of well before arriving at camp. Our incredible chef and his staff can satisfy all special dietary needs, as long as we know in advance.
Moms – Some wine will be available during the evenings but feel free to bring your own beverages for consumption in your cabin if you wish.
What To Pack
Typical weather in Spring and Fall can include cool nights and the odd sprinkle. Be sure to bring a warm jacket for night-time campfires as well as a raincoat and rubber boots in case the rain gets the better of us!
